(Only you know what it represents)

What’s currently on your mind? Are you worried of telling someone you love them? Worried about the move? Worried about quitting your job and starting fresh somewhere else? Worried about following your dream?

Whatever it is, know:

THIS IS YOUR SIGN TO DO IT.

Life is short, so might as well make from it what you really want to. It scares you? Even better! We improve when we step out of our comfort zones.

SOCIAL MEDIA

Social media is killing off individual personalities, and making its users homogenous

Photo by 浮萍 闪电 on Unsplash

This isn’t a new topic; you’ve heard it before: social media is killing creativity. But it’s something that’s becoming more and more obvious.

Social media is making us all look, talk, and act the same. It’s making our society homogenous.

A perfect example of this is Instagram: look at the so-called ‘influencers’. Girls’ posts usually comprise travel photography, posing in cute outfits, drinking Starbucks, occasional thirst-traps, and showcasing the very popular ‘Kylie look’. While guys’ posts consist mostly of expensive watches on perfectly tanned hands, tattooed arms, posing in front of expensive cars, not-so-subtly showcasing their perfect abs.

It’s easy for the younger generation to want to become just like them, as in their eyes they represent…

Perspective | It’s a Dog’s World

They are like us — only four-legged

Chihuahuas are loud. Beagles are stubborn. Pit bulls are dangerous. Bulldogs are lazy. Rottweilers are hard to control.

These are just some of many stereotypical characteristics assigned to various dog breeds.

Who decided on these? Dogs are living beings, there is no black-or-white type of situation when it comes to their personalities. In fact, I would argue, dogs’ personalities are just like ours: different in their many forms.

As I already talked a lot about my Jack Russell terrier in previous posts about how she’s teaching me to live life and how our relationship grew, I don’t think I need…

PERSONAL GROWTH

Is it worth chasing it?

Photo by Steve Halama on Unsplash

Life is full of aspirations.

There is always some dream deep down inside of us pushing us forward. However, sometimes this very dream-like version of what we want from life is what is holding us back. Sounds kind of contradicting, but bear with me.

Maybe you want to be a singer, a writer, a karate teacher, whoever– someone you would love to be. You dream about it, wish that it was your life. You aspire to be that person, to live your life in this illusion of perfectly ideal life you created for yourself.

And I believe in you, you can definitely do it. I…

Even if it’s just completing 100 days on Duolingo

The title says it all — I wanted to learn German for a while now, and one day bored in the middle of a lockdown I downloaded Duolingo and made a promise to myself to practice German every day for the next 30 days. Seems innocent enough, but it’s usually these simplest decisions that ignite something much bigger.

How it went

If you’re unfamiliar with Duolingo, it’s a fun and popular phone app for learning languages. In the beginning, I was very eager, spent about an hour daily on the app. But then somewhere in the middle, my motivation kind of went downhill…

Don’t kill off the idea and the good it could do for you

Since you clicked on the title and are reading this, it must mean there is a wish inside of you, something you always wanted to do. Am I right?

Is there a certain idea that gives you butterflies in your stomach when you indulge in the thought of acting on it? Does it give you that ‘good fear’ type of feeling?

Well, then I say this feeling is inside you for a reason. We all have it, not necessarily for the same things, but oh, it’s there. What separates us though is the courage to act on it. …

Today is a special day for Medium and me — it’s our one-month anniversary!

I have been an avid reader on Medium for approximately two years now, but it’s officially one month since I joined the dark side — the writers’ side.

Time flies when you’re having fun.

Now, as I said, I read a lot, so I got this idea for analysis from Shamar M’s article My First Month on Medium: 11 Tips for Others— thank you, Shamar!).

Without further ado, let’s get to it:

1. Stories

During this one-month, I’ve written 29 articles. Not bad, since my initial goal was…
